At age 9 I was in the living room with my sister watching TV, in our home in Miami, FL. The patio curtain was open and it was about 9 p.m. My mom was at a Tupperware party at the house behind us and my dad was gone, working the night shift.
As I looked out the patio I saw a streak of light as a cylinder object, perhaps 5-feet, flew into our backyard. It hovered for a few seconds and then shot straight into the air. I could hear a "swish" sound.
Neighbors told me it was the reflection of the light when my next door neighbor's sprinkler system turned on. But, I know what I saw and it was real.
Around 2010, 41 years later, I was bored one afternoon and was flipping through TV channels. I came across a UFO show and a Miami-Dade police offer described the same experience, and his wife saw it too. That sent chills down my spine.
I know what I saw and it was real, and it's affected me forever. The experience gave me an interest in outer space and the mysteries it holds.
I have no idea what I saw that night. But nothing manmade can perform like that. It gave me a life-long freak-out.
